All the different festivities are classified in national, regional and local fiestas. Each area of Benalmadena has it's own local holidays. Amongst the national holidays, one of the more important one's is Easter (in March or April), which is celebrated in Benalmadena as in the rest of Analusia with great enthusiasm. To mention are other national festivities like the carneval (February/March), christmas, All Saints on November 1st, the Spanish national holiday (día de la Hispanidad) or el Pilar on Ocober 12th and the Immaculate conception as well as the day of the constitution in December is also being celebrated in Benalmadena.
Other festivities are San Juan, which is being celebrated all along the andalusian coastline (June 24th) or the fiesta of the autonomous andalusian region (Comunidad Autónoma andaluza) on February 28th.
Speaking of local festivities, furthermore there are the fiestas and events in honour of the saints Candelaria and San Antón which are celebrated in Arroyo de la Miel, a small area of Benalmadena where also San Patrick in March is being celebrated.
In the Benalmadena Pueblo, the festivities in honour of the Virgen de la Cruz, are taking place in the middle of August. In July are the the festivities of the saints of the Benalmadena Costa. |
