Arroyo de la Miel was founded in the 18th century by the Italian Felix Solesio, nevertheless, there are indications that long before populated centres did exist. The Monte Calamorro, with its almost 800 m height is an authentic emblem of Arroyo de la Miel and ideal for hiking.

The first time the name Arroyo de la Miel appeared, was in the 16th century. The place became a location of importance, because of Felix Silesio, an italian entrepreneur who bought up land in order to build a paper factory.

In addition, with regards to leisure, we should not forget that in Arroyo de la Miel an important theme park is located: Tivoli World is the oldest attraction park of the Costa del Sol.
